Meet the Founder

Her motivation in life comes from a passionate interest in people and what makes them tick in particular those in Small to Medium-sized businesses. Her experience of holding the post of Managing Director of an SME family-owned business over the past 17 years has given her many opportunities to travel the world and establish relationships with business owners leading to long-term friendships and expansion of the distribution of an innovative range of products. Her prior experience before becoming MD was managing the overseas sales division resulting in a period of high growth for the business with many new satellite companies being formed worldwide.  Following this, she was appointed General Manager responsible for the company’s wider operations, including generating revenue and controlling costs and her transition to Managing Director followed automatically.

Mel has a gift for listening and people always feel valued after speaking to her. Coming from a very close-knit family she knows how important it is to keep the right balance between home-life and business. Her parents formed their small business starting from a home office but went on to employ more than 60 people so she knows first-hand how a business evolves from start-up and the challenges and sacrifices faced along the path.

When not working Mel likes to keep fit by walking around the beautiful Peak District. She thoroughly enjoys cooking with her husband at weekends whether it be creating delicious Mexican, Indian or British dishes to name a few. Her three children have always been at the heart of her life with two sons now grown up and onto their own adventures and a young daughter still at school. Her passion for travel hasn’t changed and the trips to the sun each year are relished.

This new venture is the culmination of years of experience and lessons learned and she is now ready to share this with SME business leaders who are facing their own challenges with dark clouds circling above.
